About the STEPP Cluster

The establishment of STEPP – Science, Technology and Educational Platform for Photonics, Hungary Cluster – had been preceded by decades long R&D& I cooperation in Hungary. In the recent decades national Photonics and Laser Physics academic research has been hallmarked by the name of more cities and research institutions (the University of Szeged, the University of Pécs, the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, The Hungarian Academy of Sciences Wigner Research Centre for Physics). The high standard of research in Szeged is indicated by the fact of the construction of the Extreme Light Infrastructure Attosecond Light Pulse Source research facility (ELI-ALPS, http://www.eli-hu.hu)
